The Chamber

Chamber Mission Role Structure Sub-committees Membership Benefits

The primary role of the Cobh and Harbour Chamber is to serve the business needs of its members.

This is achieved by the following objectives:

1. Local Economic Development:

The Chamber has developed and put forward a plan for the economic development of the area. The Plan acts as a catalyst for the promotion of economic development in the local area.

2. Representation:

The Chamber articulates the views of its members individually and collectively to the Local Authority, to central Government, to TDs, to European Institutions, to public utilities and to all relevant bodies whether public or private.

3. Information:

The Chamber provides an information service to its member companies on a very wide range of business issues. It has stored information about the products and capacities of member companies. In addition, Chamber staff run a Tourist Information Centre.

4. Education & Training:

The Chamber is involved in activities designed to improve liaison between Education and Business. The Chamber assists companies with their training requirements through a combination of both direct delivery and referrals.

5. Administration & Business Development:

The Chamber operates to high, professional standards, shows itself to be financially viable and has recently been granted Accreditation by the Chambers of Commerce of Ireland.
